Résumé

The mafrag estuary is a system of singular humid Mediterranean wetland by its hydrological regime and by the diversity of its hydrographical components the distribution of the water masses has been investigated two times per months during the year 2005 in 4 stations of the mafrag lower estuary in relation with the hydrological conditions .In winter the estuary is entirety renewed buy fresh water input which flows as 20-30m3 s-1 and stops the marine intrusion. From the spring, the river is affected by a semi diurnal tide conferring is a core estuary according to a very stratified system of two layers the temperature varied between 9-300 a annual thermal amplitude of 300c. The surface between 28-36 except in flooding periods. It is a salt wedge estuary with sharp halocline and strong about 9 months. T he hydrological cycle will start in winter when the salt wedge is entirely driven back to the sea and constitutes a large littoral plume.
