الملخص
لقد بات من الضروري على المؤسسات اليوم, أن تتابع الأحداث والتغيرات في بيئتها بصفة مستمرة ودائمة, حتى تتمكن من إجراء التعديلات المطلوبة في الوقت الملائم, هذه التغيرات التي يزداد حجمها وتعقدها ويتضاعف معدلها يوما بعد يوم,بل إن الإدارة اليوم في حاجة ملحة وماسة إلى طريق منطقي وأسلوب إداري عملي ناجع يمكنها من خلاله من اتخاذ القرارات الرئيسية، المصيرية والهامة. وهنا تحاول الإدارة الإستراتيجية كآلية متكاملة الاستجابة لهذه المتطلبات, وأن تسمح للمؤسسة بالوصول إلى القرارات الفعالة في الأمد البعيد, وفي ظروف عدم اليقين، لتصبح بذلك محورا ونقطة حرجة في إدارة الأعمال, واستجابة لتزايد الحاجة إليها. ونقطة تحول نحو الأفضل أو الأسوأ وهذا الأخير يؤدي إلى موقف مفاجئ و إلى أوضاع غير مستقرة، وتحدث نتائج غير مرغوب فيها، في وقت قصير، ويستلزم اتخاذ قرار محدد للمواجهة في وقت تكون فيه الأطراف المعنية غير مستعدة، أو غير قادرة على المواجهة.
