Oliver Twist : A Boy In The City

Abstract

125 years have passed since Dickens’ death. Many years during which his work has undergone Several fluctuation. Various critics and scholars have attempted to assess what is authentic in Dickens’fiction or have examined Dickens’ Overt opinions about art, politics or morality. In our study, we shall explore in details what he saw and encountered during his own life with a professional conscienciousness. In the imaginative univers of Oliver Twist, Dickens chose the story of a boy as the subject of his drama, partly to retrace the unforgettable experience of his early youth when he was to face hard times in the blacking factory, and partly to show the society with the intention of bringing to notice crying scandals of his time. Here, we shall treat London, The City of Dickens, and see how a boy, Oliver, is involved in it.
