Abstract

Coming within the framework of the design of a Man-Machine communication system in natural language, this paper presents the study of the first part of an automaton al- lowing the analysis of each sentence con- tained into a text represented in a well de- termined thematic framwork. Processing automatically a natural language has tempted more and more researchers and this is due to thefact that all people seem to believe that "tomorrow's computer" will become man's inseparable companion, hence it is necessary than man and the ma- chine could communicate in a current lan- guage, and this is the whole matter of the Natural Language Processing (NLP). The object of this work is to outline the method used to analyse a text in french lan- guage replacing it in the general framwork of the text, i. e. building a thesaurus. We have opted for an analyser gathering the syntactic knowledge as a matter of fact, this type of analyser offers a more promissing alternative to those other context free ana- Iysers and the A TN analysers. The analysis consists of identifying the components of a sentence and replacing the terms of each component by the corresponding node in the intermediate diagram (syntactic tree). The management of such an analysis for the construction of the intermediate diagram is controlled by the condition-action rules.
