أثر تنويع القاعدة الإنتاجية على النمو الاقتصادي في جنوب إفريقيا

الملخص

تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تحليل العلاقة بين التنويع الاقتصادي والنمو الاقتصادي في جنوب إفريقيا خلال الفترة (2001-2014)، من خلال معالجة الإشكال التالي:''ما مدى تنويع القاعدة الاقتصادية في جنوب إفريقيا؟، وما أثر ذلك على النمو الاقتصادي؟. واعتمدت الدراسة في تقدير مؤشرات التنويع الاقتصادي على معامل هيرفندال-هيرشمان للمتغيرات الاقتصادية المتمثلة في الناتج المحلى الإجمالي الحقيقي والصادرات، وتم تقدير أثر معامل التنويع على النمو الاقتصادي بطريقة المربعات الصغرى؛ إذ بينت نتائج التقدير الأثر الايجابي للتنويع في الصادرات على النمو، وهو ما يدل على أن التنويع النسبي الحاصل في هيكل الصادرات قد ساهم في زيادة معدل النمو الاقتصادي في جنوب إفريقيا. وأهم ما توصي به الدراسة هو الاستفادة من نموذج جنوب إفريقيا القائم على آليتي التثمين والتوطين والاعتماد عليه لتحقيق الأهداف المرجوة من التنويع الاقتصادي. This study empirically examines the correlation between the product diversification and the economic growth in South Africa during the period of 2001 to 2014, through investigating the following research questions : '' How diversified is the economic base in South Africa ?, and what is its impact on the economic growth ? The study implements Herfindahl–Hirschman Index to estimate the effects of the product diversification on the variables of real GDP and exports, whereas the effects on the economic growth are caculated by the procedure of squaring the shares. The empirical results show that the product diversification of exports is positively related to the economic growth which indicates that the relative diversification made on the structure of exports has an important role on economic growth in South Africa. The study recommends the implementation of the diversification Modal of South Africa which is based on the promotion of innovation and production of new products, to achieve the economic goals of diversification.
