الملخص: تعتبر إدارة النفايات الخطرة والتخلص منها بطريقة آمنة ومستدامة أمرًا ضروريًا للمحافظة على الحياة البشرية والصحة العامة، وهي مسؤولية الجميع، ومع ذلك فإن تصريف هذه النفايات الخطرة والتخلص منها بصورة غير سليمة بيئياً لا يزال يشكل خطراً كبيراً -في الكثير من بلدان العالم، بما في ذلك البلدان المتقدمة- على التمتع بالعديد من حقوق الإنسان، بما فيها الحق في الحياة والحق في التمتـع بأعلى مستوى ممكن من الصحة البدنية والنفسية، والحق في ظروف عمل آمنة وصحية والحق في مستوى معيشي مناسب. Summary: Hazardous waste management and disposal in a sustainable and safe manner is essential to the preservation of human life and public health, and is the responsibility of all. However, the environmentally sound handling of these hazardous wastes continues to pose a significant risk- In many countries of the world, including the developed countries - to the enjoyment of many human rights, including the right to life, the right to the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health, the right to safe and healthy working conditions and the right to an adequate standard of living.
