الملخص
Abstract : It is difficult to give an accurate picture of the situation regarding the linguistic study of arabic language, because this kind of study is facing some obstacles. On the other hand, the Linguistic study in Western thought lives a remarkable development, especially in France and America. It can be said without reservation, The medieval Arabs are linguistically the most important people that ever managed the studies of linguistics, during this period, the language theory reached the highest level in linguistic thought, we find Abū Naṣr al-Fārābī (c. 870– 950) the great arab thinker, who is known as the Second Master. So, This paper focuses on the problem of the distinguish between three principles words in the classical and modern theoretical linguistics, these concepts are :Language as لغة ; Langue or Tongue as لسانand Speech as كلام. The contribution of Ferdinand de Saussure’s Course in General Linguistics was very important to make a difference between parole and langue, but the conception of these terms are not the same in the western conception. This article shows Ibn Jinni’s contribution to arabic linguistics by surveying his thinking in his studies, such as “al-Hasa’is
