This study examined the effects of sport genre, gender and age of middle and secondary school students (in and outside school) on their self and general physical perception. The sample was comprised of 229 participants , 127 middle school students aged between 10 and 14 years old and 102 secondary school school students aged between 15 and 18 years old selected from different schools in chlef (Algeria). Student were asked to complete Fox 1990 physical self perception profile/ PSPP as modified and interprets for the Algerian context and in the written in the Arabic language .The PSPP constituted of 25 items that measured six dimensions : general self concept , sport competence, attractive body , physical strength , endurance , physical self perception. Results showed differences between the two groups of middle and secondary school on the majority of dimensions, results also showed differences between genders (male, females), indicating that males had higher scores in general self concept , sport competence, physical strength , endurance and the females had higher scores in attractive body , On what concern sport genre, results showed that there is no different in majority of dimensions according to the quality of sport practice between volleyball, football, judo and athletics except in endurance self concept that there is a differences between those who practice judo and athletics compared by the ones who practice volleyball and football.
