الملخص
Insurance industry is one of the important industries in the financial sector of every country, and Kuwait is no exception. This paper presents the issue of mandatory auto insurance in the State of Kuwait. It reviews the importance of this field of insurance by addressing importance issues counted in insurance markets of several developed countries such as the USA, the UK, and Japan. This paper is divided into four parts. Firstly, it reviews the history of third-party insurance. Secondly, it presents an overview of important issues in three developed countries. Thirdly it addresses the mandatory auto insurance in Kuwait. Finally, the issue of mandatory auto insurance remains a topical and important issue which needs more research, especially the area of auto insurance rating. One important recommendation derived form this study include the evaluation of the rating and compensation mechanism in the auto insurance branch.
