, The main Purpose of the present Contribution is not to start a methodological debate on various scientific approaches but to underline the strong input of comparatism when teaching Religious Sciences. First of all, it seems important to define the institutional framework where one is teaching because it very often explains the difficulties met within the academic world when talking about Religions. Secondly, I’ll try to give some theoretical elements regarding the comparative approach and the positive points it gives us to justify the fact that Religious Sciences is part of Social Sciences instead of Theology. Then, I’ll illustrate the way comparison could be used and the benefit students can get from it.
