The Advent Of The Endoscope In Transsphenoidal Surgery

Abstract
Transsphenoidal surgery performed with the aid of an endoscope has rapidly developed in recent years and many centers are now performing "pure" or endoscopeassisted transsphenoidal approaches. An overview of the role of the endoscope in pituitary surgery, from the first attempts to the current techniques is presented.
