الملخص
إن دور مكتب العمل الدولي في مجال حماية حقوق العمال مستمد من المهام الموكلة إلى منظمة العمل الدولية، فهو يشكل العمود الفقري في أجهزة هذه المنظمة، و بإعتبار المنظمة وكالة دولية متخصصة تابعة للأمم المتحدة، تنشط في المجال الإجتماعي موكل لها ترقية و تطوير القانون الدولي للعمل، من خلال إيجاد تشريع دولي للعمل يساعد على توحيد معايير العمل الدولية التي تضمن حقوق العمال لدى الدول مهما كانت طبيعة أنظمتها السياسية، حيث أن الإنتشار الواسع لفروع مكتب العمل الدولي ساهم بشكل فعال في جعل منظمة العمل الدولية تتوفر على آلية فعالة مكنتها من التقليل من إنتهاك حقوق العمال في العديد من الدول.
