Résumé

Our research, tagged with (bilingualism and its impact on the teaching of foreign languages in Algeria) revolves around two main areas: the first area is the definition of linguistic pluralism, as well as the linguistic map in Algeria, while the second is portrayed in clarifying the role of this pluralism and its relationship with other foreign languages. It is worth noting that multilingualism in Algeria is a sociolinguistic phenomenon adopted in our society in particular, since ancient times, and in North Africa in general. Also, the development of the so-called secondary languages, the opening of borders and communications via satellite in the era of globalization and the introduction of new and modern technologies for information and communication, as well as the movement of professors across the world. All these factors contributed to the activation of the extensive use of foreign languages. In this regard, we discussed in this brief study the map of foreign languages in Algeria, so that we find, in particular, in the remote areas of the country, that languages are overlooked in one way or another. Certainly, Algerians deeply love their national language, as well as the Berber language, and they also love other foreign languages that allow them to communicate and flourish in various scientific and professional fields. The problem that arises lies in how to exploit linguistic pluralism for the purposes of teaching, as well as its effect on the process of pedagogical training for Algerian students.
