Studying Different Factors That May Impact The Emission Of Dioxide Carbon And The Economic Growth In Algeria: Using Svar Model

Authors : Sari Hassoun Salah Eddine . Mékideche Mohamed .

Abstract

Algeria is one of the countries that is mainly depending on fossil energy to secure its economic situation and government stability, but such energy can have a dangerous consequences on environment. In this topic, we shall study per capita (GDP) representing the economic growth factor, per capita carbon dioxide emission (Coe) and other exogenous variables with structured vector autoregressive model and granger causality for the period of 1995-2016 in Algeria. We found unidirectional causality running from (Gdp) to (Coe), and the same result was found in Svar estimation and structured impulse response.

Keywords

Economic growth, carbon dioxide emission, structured VAR, Granger causality, structured impulsion response.
