Algerian Ppp Contracts Experience: The Case Of Seawater Desalination Program

Abstract

Since the beginning of the eighties of the previous century, PPPs get more place and interest in public service market. In fact PPPs become a strategic approach to boost the economic growth with public infrastructure even in case of scarcity of financial resources for both developed and developing countries. The present article aims, in the first part, at highlighting mechanisms of PPPs as an effective tool to involve private sector to invest in public infrastructures, than presenting, in the second part, the Algerian experience related to adopting PPP schemes to promote water sector.
