الملخص
Since its first appearance, the product of coffee has seriously been studied by the Islamic scientists through looking whether it is one of the intoxicants or it is not up to the level of being considered as such, that’s from one side. From the other side, they have also given great importance to the issue of buying and selling this product. Is it considered as a trade or is it judged as being an interest like other interests? In the tenth century of Elhidjra, Ibn Hadjr Lhaythami stated that it was not an interest, however; Islamic scientists are still writing judgments to prove the reverse. Among these Islamic scientists there is one from the region of Touat who wrote a letter in which he implied his opinion about the product of coffee as being an interest, and this is due to its characteristics and effects on people in spite of their different natures.
