Résumé

Translation has always been a tool for cultural enrichment, knowledge transfer, and a means of communication between people speaking different languages. However, translation is not always an easy task. This paper tries to show the problems of untranslatability encountered during the translation of a religious text from Arabic into French, and the use of borrowing as the most appropriate solution to translate realities linked to the culture and to the Islamic religion.
