It can be said that translation is the most important channel through which Arabic literature reaches the German-speaking world. Moreover, the translation of texts into other languages is not only translation in the concrete sense of the word, but also visions and mentalities of other peoples are transmitted, like the translator of Arabic literature. This article discusses the role of translation in the reception of Arabic literature in German-speaking countries.
