The natural conditions of the topography and climate of the Emirate of Tlemcen have made a peasant region, with varied production, depending on the quality of the soil and the amount of rainfall. Sometimes the production of some crops exceeds the need of the population. It is exported to the neighboring areas to the east and west, to Europe to the north, and to the country of Sudan to the south
