Résumé

In this article, we intend to draw attention to the complexity of scientific and technical translation. From the analysis of a concrete case of translation of a mathematics text written in English, we try to show that even if a teacher masters the English language completely, he can have difficulties in translating a text which is not common language, and that the collaboration of the mathematician is necessary to obtain a good translation.
