Unsaturated Polyester Resins Modified With Cresol Novolac Epoxy And Silica Nanoparticles: Processing And Mechanical Properties

Authors : Seyed Mojtaba Mousavi .

Abstract

In current research, unsaturated polyester resins modified with Cresol Novolac Epoxy and silica nanoparticles studied extensively in order to analyze changes in the physical, mechanical and thermal properties. It has been shown that by incorporating the amount of in to the polymer, the mechanical (modulus, strength, tensile, bending), and morphological properties have been substantially improved. The properties of cross-linked nanocomposites were characterized by, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Scaning Electron Microscopy (SEM) methods according to the measurement, these modified, nanocomposites have been shown the significant improvement in the morphological and mechanical properties for coating applications.
