Résumé

Polymer micro-concretes made up of polyester resin as binder and of two types of sands one fine and the other means were formulated and studied. Empirical step adopted for the study of the formulation and based on the principle of the saturation point of sands with the resin, this reveals that a mass fraction of resin of 27% constitutes an optimum to obtain a new resin concrete with matrix polyester. Three point bending tests and compression tests were carried out thereafter to characterize the mechanical properties of these composites. The influence of the rate of sands, of the ratio Gravel/Sand (G/S), of the rate of glass fibers E of reinforcement as of their nature was highlighted. The study of the morphology of the fracture and the microscopic observations of the facies show that the mechanisms of deformation and failure under bending and compression of these composites differ from those of the traditional concretes.
