الملخص
In spite of the weakness of health and demographic information system in Algeria, surveys’ results and medical certificates of death revealed that the country lives a health transition with double burden : decline of some diseases and appearance of chronic diseases (hypertension arterial, diabetes and cancers) This health transition contributed to the prolongation of life expect ancy at birth that is over 75 years and improves the death model. According to GBD classification, non communicable diseases contributed more 40% deaths than 20% for communicable diseases in 2002. The CIM 10 classification witnessed that 20% Algerian population die because of circulatory system diseases an 8% due to cancers in 2008.
