Auteurs : Kouri Y .

Résumé

In this work, the military architecture in Algeria was studied, through an exploratory study of the blockhouse of Tombourouf, this monument was built in 1840 by the French army of colonization in the town of Koléa (wilaya of Tipasa); this monument was studied on the historical, architectural and constructive terms; knowing that this building has been subject to any detailed study before. Among the methods used in this study, the architectural survey (direct and photogrammetric survey) to draw the plans, section and elevations of this monument was used. As well as, laboratory compressive tests on the brick used in the construction of this building, to know the mechanical characteristics and behavior of this material, these tests give us the different mechanical characteristics of this brick (stress (δ), strain (ε) and modulus of elasticity (E)). Through the behavior of the material during the tests, it was found that this type of brick is not a brittle material, as its break was not by sudden explosion. This study may provide a theoretical support for a possible project of restoration.
