الملخص
The place given to the General Lyautey and the fame obtained through activation and the speed up of the process of colonial penetration in the South of Oran returns not only to his work with dedication to serve the purposes of his colonial State, but basically to the way and the policy approach that he followed under military rule in the South of Algeria. Once joining the military territory in the region of Ain sefra in 1903, he adopted the policy of appeasement and indirect management after he had been convinced that the military solution decisiveness alone will not succeed, which had avoided to his country much of human and material losses. This does not mean at all that the force option was not on the table, as evidenced by the severe repression exerted against Sheikh Bouamama resistance.
