French colonialism and its effects in Mauritania This modest research aims at highlighting the specificity of the national struggle in Mauritania against the French occupation and its policies, while at the same time exposing the impact of these policies on the social and cultural conditions in this country. Before entering into the details of the subject, we should first address the situation of the country during the foreign occupation.
