Abstract

The internet age has engendered a number of ethical challenges in the Algerian economic institutions as a result of increasing competition among enterprises due to the fact that the International Network (Internet) is a port that is not subject to the law and what is happening in these enterprises are actions devoid of any ethical principles. Electronic commerce or e-commerce allowed for the creation of a huge number of enterprises which have websites on the Internet and use them to offer their services. This has increased the number of piracy cases on information relating to the components of the institution’s survival. Moreover, it helped others to invent new ways of intrusion and spying on customers through the Internet, and other electronic immoral acts. The chances of Algeria for development in the field of e-commerce depend on the availability of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and its evolution. The accelerating global development of e-commerce and the growing international trend to deploy the application of ICT should push Algeria to follow the path of this kind of trading (e-commerce) without a moment of hesitation.
