Abstract

This study aims to attempt to shed light on the position of the Secret Army Organization O.A.S., which rejects negotiations with the National Liberation Front and works to thwart and undermine them, thus obstructing the imminent independence of Algeria. Its terrorism reached its peak when the ceasefire agreement was signed between the two parties and its entry into force on March 19, 1962. . The Secret Army Organization insisted on clinging to French Algeria by adopting a military strategy that targeted supporters of General de Gaulle and supporters of the idea of Algerian independence. It did not exclude civilians, leaders, and intellectuals. It also destroyed and blew up cultural, social, religious, and economic structures and institutions. In other words, it created an atmosphere of security and stability, all through unrestrained violence. It did not succeed in achieving what it aimed to achieve تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى محاولة تسليط الضوء على موقف منظمة الجيش السّري O.A.S الرّافض للمفاوضات مع جبهة التّحرير الوطني من خلال عملها على إفشالها وتقويضها، من أجل منع استقلال الجزائر الذي بات وشيكا.
