Effet D’un Traitement De Boruration Sur La Résistance à La Corrosion D’un Acier Xc38

Résumé

Many works on mechanical characterization of borided layers were made ; but studies on corrosion resistance of these layers remain very limited. In this work, we studied the corrosion resistance of borided layers performed on XC38 steel by powder technique. Tests of total immersion in various acids and bases such as aggressive media were conducted in this work to evaluate the corrosion resistance of these borides layers. The results show that in general, the corrosion resistance of borided layers is improved compared to that of the XC38 steel without boriding. This improvement varies from one medium to another, and the best improvements were obtained in acidic media, particularly in sulfuric acid.
