The Protection Of Innovations As An Instrument To Attract External Investments

Abstract
this paper dicusses the dispute about the impact of protection of innovation rights on the attractiveness of foreign direct investments. Many scholars assumed that FDI inflow in any nation depends upon the level of protection given to innovations while others believe that IPRs brings negative influence on foreign investments because it provides holders with increased market power. to illustrate the analyses made by the advocates for protection of innovation rights, we studied the case of Algeria to show the importance of that link in algeria, by examinig the legislation that was set to foster foreign direct investments
