RESUMEN: La comedia de Torcato, fue escrita por moriscos y representada por primera vez en el 1574 en tierra aragonesa. A través del estudio de la obra y los personajes, en este ensayo, se explora cómo el amor entre Felisarda y Torcato se desarrolla a pesar de las circunstancias inusuales en las que se encuentran. Se examina cómo el amor cambia a los personajes y a sus identidades a lo largo de la historia, y cómo este sentimiento puede ser un factor influyente en las decisiones que toman. Además, se exploran temas como el honor, la lealtad y el disfraz, y cómo se entrelazan con la historia principal de la obra. Se prestará atención al personaje gitano y a su lenguaje, que hacen que la historia sea cada vez más interesante y, sobre todo, curiosa de seguir. A través de La comedia de Torcato, este ensayo pretende no sólo analizar cómo el amor, es un tema recurrente en las diferentes jornadas que componen la comedia, sino sobre todo cómo una comedia morisca, trata temas sensibles en un periodo complejo, como lo de la península ibérica del siglo XVI. ABSTRACT: La comedia de Torcato was written by Moriscos and first performed in 1574 in the Aragonese region. Through the study of the work and its characters, this essay explores how the love between Felisarda and Torcato develops despite the unusual circumstances they find themselves in. It examines how love changes the characters and their identities throughout the story, and how this sentiment can be an influential factor in the decisions they make. Additionally, themes such as honor, loyalty, and disguise are explored, and how they intertwine with the main narrative of the play. Attention will be paid to the Gypsy character and their language, which make the story increasingly interesting and, above all, intriguing to follow. Through La comedia de Torcato, this essay aims not only to analyze how love is a recurring theme in the different acts that make up the comedy but also to highlight how a Morisco comedy addresses sensitive topics in a complex period, such as the Iberian Peninsula in the 16th century.
