Algerian government has acknowledged the importance of insuring its food security and has launched several actions to ensure a minimum level of it. Among those actions stand the credit guarantee schemes that help SMEs to be created and thrive including those that have a direct impact on food availability. This paper aims to examine the impact of these public organisms on improving food security in Algeria by using the analytical descriptive method. The research confirms the positive impact of both schemes on promoting entrepreneurship and SMEs especially those active in agriculture and food industry sector.
