Internet Addiction In Adolescents

Abstract

The Internet has become an integral part of daily life, offering numerous benefits and opportunities for global communication and access to information. However, its pervasive use, particularly among teenagers, has raised concerns about the potential risks and challenges associated with Internet addiction. Internet addiction has emerged as a prevalent modern issue, characterized by the loss of control over internet usage. This study delves into internet addiction among adolescents, aiming to provide insight into its concept, various types, underlying theories explaining its occurrence, diagnostic criteria, risk factors, effects, and possible therapeutic interventions. By synthesizing existing research from multiple perspectives, we emphasize the importance of addressing this contemporary psychological challenge, which significantly impacts the sensitive segment of society, namely adolescents. The study's primary focus is to shed light on the extent and severity of internet addiction's prevalence among this sample.
