The Rohingya Crisis provides a tangible example of the negative impact of hate speech on social media platforms. Various pieces of evidence demonstrate Facebook’s role in inciting violence against the Rohingya minority. Despite receiving several warnings from different sources about the impact of its platform, Facebook did not react sufficiently, which caused the escalated ethnic cleansing.
