An Econometric Study On The Impact Of Demographic Indicators On The Financial Balance Of The National Retirement Fund (nrf) In Algeria

Abstract

Abstract:This article evaluates the effect of demographic factors on the financial balance of the National Retirement Fund (NRF) using the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) approach combined with stability tests. Using this approach, we reach the conclusion that the influence of demographic factors is a long-term phenomenon. The bounds testing procedure also reveals that the cointegration relationship is stable throughout the study period. This result was confirmed by combining the CUSUM and CUSUMSQ residual tests. The obtained results also show that life expectancy, mortality rate, and net migration balance contribute to the deficit of the National Retirement Fund. Résumé: Cet article évalue l'effet des facteurs démographiques sur l'équilibre financier de la Caisse Nationale de Retraite (CNR) en utilisant l’approche autorégressive de décalage distribué. (ARDL) combinée à des tests de stabilité. En utilisant cette approche, nous arrivons aux conclusions que l'influence des facteurs démographiques est un phénomène à long terme. La procédure de test des bornes révèle également que la relation de cointégration est stable tout au long de la période d'étude. Ce résultat a été confirmé après combinaison des tests résiduels CUSUM et CUSUMSQ. Les résultats obtenus montrent également que l'espérance de vie, le taux de mortalité et le solde migratoire ont une contribution au déficit de la Caisse nationale de retraite.
