Résumé : Le ventre de l’Atlantique de Fatou Diome révèle une passion pour un sport mais aussi le rêve de toute une communauté de quitter le Sénégal pour aller s’installer en France. Les personnages voient en l’image de la France la richesse, le travail, le football, la réussite. La France est l’image de l’Eldorado et le football la voie qui mène vers ce lieu mythifié. Comment le football, jeu et distraction, peut-il créer un rêve migratoire vers cet Eldorado ? L’auteure dévoile des émotions vécues lors d’un match, la sensation d’être étrangère en France et au Sénégal mais aussi la solidarité qui se crée le temps d’un jeu. L’imaginaire est au centre du monde onirique mettant en œuvre la vie, les espoirs, l’espérance, les craintes du sujet, voire de toute une collectivité. ABSTRACT : The Atlantic belly of Fatou Diome reveals a passion for a sport but also the dream of an entire community to leave Senegal to settle in France. The characters see in the image of France wealth, work, football, success. France is the image of the Eldorado and football the way to this mythical place. How can football, play and entertainment create a migratory dream towards this Eldorado? The author reveals emotions experienced during a match, the feeling of being a foreigner in France and Senegal but also the solidarity that is created during a game. The imagination is at the center of the dreamlike world implementing the life, the hopes, the hope, the fears of the subject, even of an entire community.
