ملخص: يشكل هاجس المنفى أحد المحاور الأساسية في كتابات إدوارد سعيد فهو علامة دالة وثيمة أصيلة من باب لزوم ما يلزم وخاصة في كتابيه خارج المكان وما بعد السماء الأخيرة اللذين يعتبران شكل من الأشكال السردية التي رسمت موضوع المنفى في قالب استذكاري ينم عن مراجعة الذات لمسار معاناة ألم المنفى والابتعاد عن الوطن والتأصيل لضرورة الانتماء الراسخ. يؤصل إدوارد سعيد لسيرة ذاتية رافضة لإرادة الاقتلاع ومدفوعة بضرورة تأكيد حق الرجوع والانتماء. إنها سردية المنفى التي جعلت من الكتابة ملاذا للاستيطان فهي كتابة تسعى لاستباق فقد الزمان بالموت بعد فقد المكان بالنفي وهذا تسعى إلى توضيحه هذه الدراسة بتقديم قراءة للمنفى في كتابات إدوارد سعيد من خلال سيرته الذاتية في كتابه خارج المكان وفي السيرة الجماعية للشعب الفلسطيني في كتابه ما بعد السماء الأخيرة Abstract: The obsession with exile constitutes one of the main themes in Edward Said’s writings.
