The Role Of Waqf Sukuks In Achieving Development With Reference To The Experience Of Malaysia

الملخص
This paper aims to sating and clarifying the role of Waqf sukuks as one of the recent innovations in the field of Waqfs, which contribute to funding financial institutions, businesses and governments, and to support the development projects in social and economic fields. The study concluded that Waqf sukuks are of great importance in the economic, social, and religious life as thought to be good deeds that make individual closer to his Creator. Malaysia is considered as leading country in this area, it has adopted modern methods by using Waqf sukuks as a tool able to activate the role of monetary Waqf in development, which includes education, public utilities, and infrastructure projects, with the need to adopt appropriate funding formulas, and a need of required human resources and skills that are properly directed. All these conditions positively contribute to activating the role of Waqf sukuks.
