الملخص: تهتم هذه الدراسة بموضوع تأثير قضية تايوان على العلاقات الصينية – الأمريكية، حيث تناولت أهمية تايوان لدى صناع القرار في هاتين الدولتين، كما تطرقت إلى تطور علاقاتهما منذ سنة 1972 وهو ما أوجب تبيان مدى تأثير قضية تايوان على هذه العلاقات التي اتخذت بشأنها القيادات الصينية موقفا واحد، في ظل تغير الموقف الأمريكي الذي تغير بتغير إداراتها، وذلك بالاعتماد على المنهجين التاريخي والإحصائي، والمدخلين الجيوبوليتيكي والاقتصادي، وتشير نتائج هذه الدراسة إلى أن قضية تايوان قد أثرت بشكل كبير على العلاقات الصينية – الأمريكية ولعل أزمة تايوان لسنة 2022 خير دليل على ذلك. Abstract: This study highlights the impact of the Taiwan question on the relations between China and the United States. It explores the significance of Taiwan for policymakers in both countries. The evolution of their bilateral relations since 1972 is also examined as it has been substantially affected by the issue given the strong, clear-cut position of successive Chinese leaders regarding the island’s future compared with an ambiguous American position that has changed depending on the administrations in the white house. Relying on the historical and quantitative methods, along with the economic and geopolitical approaches, this study displays how Sino-American relations are indulgent upon the evolution of the Taiwan issue as it is evidenced by the 2022 crisis.
