الملخص

The description of Africa "wasf ifriquia" to his author Hassan El Wazzan is considered one among the most important book of Arabic geography of the end of middle age; he devoted a great part in his book to the Maghreb state that he visited, he give a detailed description to the Maghreb state and ther towns especially Constantine. From the political view he considered that Constantine is the part of the Tunisian kingdom and it’s Hafsirullers. The writer gave a detailed description of the political, economic, social and architectural side of Constantine in the beginning of the 10 th century of hegira/16 AD where kings of hafside used to appoint their sons to manage the city. From the economic side, the author ascertains that the habitants used to perform many crafts as textile and they were good merchants. The city was also rich by its agricultural production. From the social and architectural, the writer pointed out to the numbers of inhabitants, their tradition and also their buildings like mosques, schools, and zaouias. Subsequently, we have principal result that Hassan El Wazzan in his book "The description of Africa" gives us clear image of Constantine in the beginning of the 10Th century of hegira/16AD.
