French Missionaries’ Education In Colonial Algeria : An Instruments Of Evangelization

Abstract

Missionary education responded to the general objectives of France's policy in colonial Algeria. It has worked to disseminate French and to teach its principles to children, despite its limited prevalence. The dissemination of the language and culture of the colonizer among Algerian communities and, in particular, the category of children is the inevitable result that French missionaries and others want to achieve in order to combat the Islamic religion and the Arabic language in Algeria. They wanted Algerian thinking to be French, His language is French and his customs are French Christian.
