الملخص
اهتم أغلب المؤرخين والباحثين بالتاريخ القديم لمدينة شرشال كونها تحتوي على آثار جلية وغنية ما زالت منتشرة في المدينة، وخاصة المعالم الرومانية كونها كانت عاصمة لأكبر مقاطعة رومانية في شمال إفريقيا – مقاطعة موريطانيا القيصرية - وأهملوا بذلك أهمية تاريخ المدينة في العصور الموالية كالعصر الوسيط، أين عرفت المدينة استقطاب الكثير من الجغرافيين والرحالة العرب، حيث وصفوا المدينة في جانبها الجغرافي والاجتماعي والاقتصادي والسياسي. ومن هنا أردنا تتبع تلك الشهادات التي أرخت لنا أهمية المدينة في هذا العصر، والذي عرفت فيه المنطقة تحولات تاريخية كبيرة بعد دخول الإسلام إلى المنطقة حاملا معه قيما جديدة غيرت كل جوانب الحياة الدينية والاجتماعية والاقتصادية في شمال إفريقيا. Most historians and researchers were interested in the ancient history of the city of Cherchell, as it contains clear and rich monuments that are still scattered in the city, especially the Roman landmarks, as it was the capital of the largest Roman province in North Africa - the Caesarian Province of Mauritania - and they neglected the importance of the city's history in the following ages such as the medieval era, where it was known The city attracted many Arab geographers and travelers, who described the city in its geographical, social, economic and political aspect. Hence, we wanted to trace those testimonies that chronicled the importance of the city in this era, in which the region witnessed great historical transformations after the entry of Islam to the region, bringing with it new values that changed all aspects of religious, social and economic life in North Africa.
