Designing An Intercultural Communicative Competence Component For The First Year English License Curriculum: An Analysis Of Students' Subjective Needs

Abstract

As a preliminary step towards a principled design of the intercultural component of the first year English license curriculum, the present paper attempted to analyze students' subjective needs. To achieve this aim, a questionnaire was designed and administered to eighty eight (88) first year students of English. The results indicated students' preferences regarding the themes, the materials, the techniques, and the activities susceptible to foster them as intercultural speakers.
