Re-writing History And Exorcizing Haunted Selves In The Works Of Radwa Ashour

Abstract
The present paper examines Radwa Ashour’s life writings and attempts to exhume some of the never finalizable traces the texts unfold. Through her vehement endeavour to rewrite herstory, the macro and micro levels of history intertwine bringing to the fore an interminable chain of seemingly disconnected temporo-spatial allocations of events where personal, national, and continental dimensions are neatly interwoven. Through a spectral reading to Ashour’s life writings, the concept of trace is reconnoitred where selves are haunted by other selves and texts by others giving some line of direction to reading Ashour as a creative writer, a critic and a relentless activist. تتناول هذه الدراسة كتابات حياة رضوى عاشور إذ تسعى لاستنطاق بعض الآثار والاطياف اللامنتهية بطبيعتها . من خلال سعي الكاتبة الحثيث لإعادة كتابة الذات، تتشابك المستويات الكلية والجزئية للتاريخ لتبرز سلسلة من الإحداثيات الزمنية المكانية للأحداث التي تبدو منفصلة في حين تتشابك الأبعاد الشخصية والوطنية والقارية بدقة. من خلال قراءة طيفية لكتابات حياة عاشور، يتم استطلاع مفهوم الاثر او الطيف حيث تطارد الذات ذوات اخرى والنصوص مسكونة بأطياف نصية اخرى مانحة مصفوفة لقراءة عاشور ككاتبة مبدعة وناقدة متمرسة وناشطة شرسة.
