الملخص

This topic deals with the role of context in the interpretation of the Qur’an - Surat Yusuf as a model. This paper aims to define the context, and to indicate its status and fields, and to show that many commentators, ancient and modern, have addressed it and placed it in its position against other clues, and a few others may have neglected it, or exceeded in its employment, resulting in a defect in understanding the text, and the felony was on the text first. The main goal of this research is to show the role of context in developing the interpretation of the Qur’an by answering the following question: What is the extent of benefit from context in interpreting the Qur’an? Can it be dispensed with during the Quranic interpretation?
