Distance Learning In Algeria During The Covid 19 Era: Chalanges In Algerian Higher Educatioal System

Abstract

Abstract : The present research paper serves to demonstrate the efficiency of E-learning on the continuity of lectures during the pandemic at University of Tlemcen. It mainly concentrates on two main objectives; first, it explains the theory of connectivism which led to the emergence of e-learning. Second, it tries to underline both advantages and disadvantages of the online learning. as it explores the effectiveness of this strategy on the continuity of lecture at the University of Tlemcen. Knowing that, Nearly all countries have closed their universities and students are asked to continue their studies via internet instead of exposing themselves to the danger of an infections virus and protecting the policy of quarantine. a mixed method was used to obtain significant answers to the research questions in order to confirm the hypotheses. The data collection will be interpreted. It will be interpreted qualitatively and qualitatively; First, the questionnaire is administered for quantitative statistics and the observation have been used to observe teachers’ as well as Master 2 students’ attitudes towards this strategy of distance learning. The study's findings indicated the proposed strategy in teaching and learning by distance may be incorporated and adapted as an effective technique for EFL teachers and students as well to improve learners’ language skills related to their academic field.
