The objective of this study is to test the adsorbing capacity of a local and abundant vegetable material in our country, the date pedicels, for the elimination of a synthetic dye: Methylene blue. The tests of biosorption of BM in dynamic mode were served to examine the influence of some parameters stepping in the biosorption in fixed bed, such as the rate of feed, the height of the bed, the porosity of the bed (compaction) and the initial concentration of BM. The characterization of the system, using the method of the zone of transfer of matter, Allowed us to conclude that the biosorption is favored for lower flow (4 mL/min), with largest the height and porosity of the bed and with the weakest initial concentration in BM.
