Résumé

The central problem for GPS receiver is the precise estimation of the position, velovity, and time based on noisy observations of the satellites signais. It should come as no surprise then that this is an ideal setting for Kalman filtering has come a household word in the GPS industry. Our discussion of the subject here is intended to be tutorial and must be brief.Thus, we will confine our attention to receiver applications only and will leave all of the other intesting facets of Kalman filtering that are applied to GPS for extracurricular reading.
