Authors : Dieb Siham . Benneghrouzi Fatima Zohra .

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the strategy used by Algerian women’s non-governmental organisations to promote and advocate for problems impacting women's rights and empowerment. Looking into how non-governmental organisations use religion and its role that impacts individuals and employing specific techniques to support women's programs. This study opted for a mixed method that combines qualitative and quantitative approaches. More precisely, it used a structured questionnaire distributed to 150 respondents and 16 semi-structured interviews directed to NGO administrators from fourteen different organisations in Algiers. The findings revealed that the 'emotional impact' of religion serves as a foundation for organisations looking for credibility and legitimacy. Religion is employed since it operates on an emotive, inspiring, and basic level, and if it doesn't work in one, it will frequently work in another. Thus, religion has a significant impact on the working and structure of NGOs.
