الملخص

ملخص: تهدف هذه الدراسة الى الكشف عن تأثير اكتشافات الغاز في شرق المتوسط وبالتحديد المتمركزة في جزيرة قبرص على العلاقات اليونانية- التركية، وذلك من خلال التتبع التاريخي لسيطرة الأتراك واليونانيين على الجزيرة، وكيف ساهمت هذه الأحداث التاريخية في بلورة أزمة التقسيم الحالية لقبرص ووضعيتها القانونية، كما تطرقنا لأهم حقول الغاز المكتشفة على سواحل قبرص وكيف ساهمت في تأجيج الصراع بين تركيا واليونان، لنستنتج أن تأثير البلدين على طرفي الصراع في قبرص ساهم في تعميق الأزمة، كما تحولت هذه الجزيرة الهامة الى ساحة صراع رئيسية بين أثينا وأنقرة، وورقة ضغط لحسم المواجهة بينهما لصالح طرف على آخر بعد الاكتشافات الاستراتيجية للغاز بها. Abstract: This present study aims to expose the impact of gas discoveries in east Mediterranean and especially in Cyprus island on Turkish-Greek relations, by following the historical process of Turkey and Greece domination over the island, and how these historical odds articulate the current split crisis in Cyprus and its legal situation, Then we approached the main discovered gas fields on Cyprus costs line, and how they have contributed in escalating the conflict between Turkey and Greece, and finally we conclude that the influence the two countries has over the clash parties in Cyprus has contributed to deepened the conflict, and this important island became a core clash arena and a leverage between Athens and Ankara to settle the winner party from the two countries, after the strategic gas discoveries there.
